How the Bali tax works
Since 14 February 2024 every foreign visitor to Bali pays a one-off levy of IDR 150,000 per entry, whatever their age. It is paid once per trip into Bali, not per night, and is separate from Indonesia's visa on arrival.
Pay it only on the official Love Bali site or app, through an authorised agent, or at the airport counters: you get a QR voucher to show if asked. The province stepped up checks in 2025 after finding many visitors had not paid.

Worked example
Example: Two adults and a 9-year-old arrive in Bali for a two-week holiday.
Each foreign visitor entering Bali: IDR 150,000 per person per trip. IDR 450,000 in tax.
Who is exempt
- Indonesian citizens do not pay.
- Some visa holders are exempt; some (such as Golden Visa holders) must apply for the exemption on the Love Bali site before travelling.
- Children pay the same as adults: there is no age exemption.
Who collects it
Bali Province, through the official Love Bali website and app (card, bank transfer or QRIS), authorised agents, or counters at Denpasar airport. You get a QR voucher that can be checked on arrival or at tourist sites.
