Tourist tax calculator

Pick where you're going and where you'll stay, then the nights, who's travelling and the room price. The calculator applies that place's rules: flat amount or percentage, the cap on nights, and children's exemptions.

How it works

Flat per person per night (Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Wales): the rate × guests who pay × nights, up to the place's cap on nights.
Percentage of the room price (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Amsterdam, Berlin): the rate × the room price × nights. Children make no difference because the room is charged, not the people.
Per room per night (Manchester, Liverpool, Greece): a flat amount for each room each night.
Price bands (Kyoto): a flat amount per person per night that rises with the price per person.
Visit fees (Venice day trips, Bali): per person per day, or once per trip.

The result is an estimate from the published rules. Your hotel or host works out the exact amount (for example on the price before or after discounts), so small differences are normal. The calculator runs in your browser: nothing you type is sent to us.
