How the Vienna tax works
Vienna's Ortstaxe rose on 1 July 2026 from 3.2% (after a flat deduction) to 5% of the price of the stay, excluding VAT and breakfast. It rises again to 8% on 1 July 2027. The city had planned 8.5% from December 2025 but dropped that after criticism from the hotel industry.
There is no cap on nights and no general exemption for children.
